Fully Human Giveback Program Artist Annoucement

We are honored for the opportunity to feature and fundraise for the world-renowned visual artist Rommy Torrico(they/them) through the Fully Human Giveback Program this year. All funds collected will go directly to supporting Rommy’s livelihood and art.

We genuinely feel Rommy’s commitment to using art as a form of self-expression, growth, and healing-- for themself and others– embodies why we created this program in the first place. We are incredibly grateful to all who applied (we had a record number of applications!), and want each of you to know how much we admire you, as well as your passions and talents.

Rommy Torrico (they/them/theirs) is a formerly undocumented, queer, trans nonbinary visual artist born in Iquique, Chile and raised in Florida. They have been involved in social movement spaces encompassing (im)migrant, queer and trans rights struggles for over a decade and infuse much of their work with personal experience and the stories their communities share. Over the years, Torrico’s work has been included in several publications and most recently published in Somewhere We Are Human (Harper Collins, 2022) and Trans Bodies, Trans Selves (Oxford University Press, 2022). They've exhibited at the Smithsonian Museum, the Getty Museum, the Library of Congress and the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía as well as many galleries and museums throughout the Americas and internationally.
