Some people have a quiet confidence. Others move through life with an unmistakable spark. Summer (they/them) is both. An Aries through and through, they pour their energy into everything they love.
Just weeks ago, they were modeling for Urbody’s latest campaign, celebrating self-expression in front of the lens. Now, they’re stepping into a different kind of storytelling—one where they’re not just seen but heard. Let it Breathe, their powerful short film, started back in college and has since grown into something deeply personal.
"The creation of this script started back during my time at Florida State and has since grown into a story I am proud to share. I have worked closely with friends and professionals out here in Los Angeles to shape this story into the strongest version of itself, and I'm eager to take the next step with its development."

It's a film that feels personal because it is.
"The story itself is loosely based on a night at home where I felt like I didn’t have the strength to stand up for myself. This project is a way to give myself autonomy and defend the ‘Younger Summer’ who didn’t have that back-up."
They’re not just writing it. They’re starring in it. Running social. Doing the work that comes with making sure a story is seen the way it was meant to be.
"I wear a few hats in the project! I’ve written the script, will be playing the lead role, and run the social media side of things. I’m thankful to have the support of my team, my friends, and my family to help me keep the balance as we prepare to shoot."
It’s thrilling. It’s exhausting. And it’s worth it.
"The creative process has been so fun and so stressful! The stress, though, comes from how much I care about this story and how much I want to make sure it’s properly cared for in its creation. I’ve been lucky enough to have a team to help me through the process: My director, producer and casting director have handled so many technical aspects and I’ve been able to rely on friends to help with things like shooting promo and pushing our fundraising."
To deepen the performance, they’ve been using Sense Memory in their acting class—revisiting moments that shaped them, letting the emotions settle in before bringing them to life on screen.
"It’s been an incredible tool that’s helped me hone in on the character I’ll be playing and make the night I’m reflecting on feel more present and accessible."
The goal? To make something that doesn’t just tell a story, but feels lived in.
Making an independent film takes a village. And right now, Summer’s team is raising funds to cover everything from equipment rentals to location fees, cast and crew meals, and post-production costs.
"The best way to support this project would be to donate to the GoFundMe! All of the funds we raise there will help us during production with things like equipment rentals, location rentals, meals for cast and crew, etc. Dropping a dollar or sharing the link."
